She Kept Flirting in Front of Me

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years, and we have a great relationship. However, there’s this woman in our social circle—Lisa—who constantly flirts with him.

At first, I ignored it, thinking she was just naturally friendly. But then, it became obvious. She would touch his arm when talking, laugh way too hard at his jokes, and find excuses to stand close to him. The final straw was at a recent party when she told him, “If you ever get tired of her, you know where to find me.”

I had enough. I pulled Lisa aside and told her, very directly, to stop disrespecting my relationship. She rolled her eyes and called me insecure. Now, some of our mutual friends think I overreacted. Am I the asshole?

The Community Reacts: Standing Up or Overreacting?

Many people agreed that confronting a woman for flirting with my boyfriend was completely justified.

  • “You set a boundary, and she ignored it. You had every right to call her out.”
  • “Saying ‘you know where to find me’ is not innocent flirting—that’s disrespectful.”
  • “If your boyfriend isn’t shutting it down, you absolutely should.”

However, some thought I could have handled it differently.

  • “Your issue should be with your boyfriend—did he shut her down, or just let it happen?”
  • “You should have ignored her and let your confidence speak for itself.”
  • “Calling her out just made her feel like she ‘won.’ Don’t give her that power.”

The Verdict: Confidence or Confrontation?

While some believed I could have handled it differently, most agreed that confronting a woman for flirting with my boyfriend was the right move.

At the end of the day, respect in a relationship is key. Would you have called her out or ignored it? Let us know in the comments
